So, I think I may have enough fic to justify one of these. I'm not sure anyone will be interested enough to browse it; I'm still very much a novice writer. At the very least it will be useful to me.

Muse are on tour late Autumn promoting their new album 'The Resistance' and I'm seeing them on November 4th! I can't wait! :D

It's a new fanfic community. Each month a theme is announced, prompts are posted on that theme for a week and then you have three weeks to pick one (or more) and write. I think it has potential to be very interesting but it all depends on the themes chosen. I figured it was one to watch at the very least.

In other news, dissertation writing is so slow going. I've been writing up the sections in different Word docs to keep the references separate since I tend to rearrange paragraphs frequently and it all gets messy sometimes. I compiled what I'd got done today and it came to ~1800 words. The hell? This has to be 8000 words long in less than two weeks, how can I have done so few words? Argh! I'm going to see Star Trek tomorrow (and excited about it after seeing both trekkie and non-trekkie reviews!) so I've decided that I'm working flat out until then and hopefully I'll hit 3000.

I also have had someone watching over me all day. I discovered Harvey the huge-ass spider on my curtain this morning. My method of cup-and-cardboard will not work on my curtain, well, it might but have I mentioned Harvey is huge-ass? I don't want him falling and running somewhere I can't find him. I've told him that if he doesn't move I'm getting the hoover which isn't going to be much better than squashing him so he should consider that fair warning.

I've gotten a respectable number of words of my dissertation done today and now that I feel like I have the time to breathe I want to write. But the muse seems to have packed up and left, or is drowning under all the Winchester angst. All I know is that she hasn't been seen for a while.

I have a Dark Angel fic that is a handful of scenes close to finishing and some more of Safe Haven to write not to mention quite a number of one shots that are in various states of finish. The inspiration to write just isn't quite there, it's like it's too much effort. Like running 5 miles when you haven't even gone for a jog in months.

However, in the past I've found that writing drabbles helps. They don't have to be amazing epics or incredibly complex they're just 100 words of creativity. So with that in mind...

This is always a lot of fun and the prompts are usually really great. Plus it's only a minimum of 1000 words with two months to write so it doesn't have to be too taxing. It's opened up to include graphics and vids too although the focus is still on fic.

I'm gonna have fun thinking up my prompts... but then again everything that isn't revision seems fun at the moment.

Indigostarfish has made a very nice mistake. My season 4 part one DVD which is out on Monday arrived today. :D

Apart from the episodes there are extended scenes for 4.01, 4.03, 4.06, 4.07 and 4.10 plus an additional deleted scene from 4.10.

Also there is a commentary by Eric Kripke and Jeremy Carver for 4.03.

My final year exams start Monday and I have seven modules over the course of a week and a half (which is why I've been a bit quiet on LJ) so I probably won't listen to the commentary anytime soon but I'll be checking out the deleted scenes very soon. They're probably nothing to write home about but you never know. If anyone is interested I can give a summary of them later.
